Batu Cermin Cave
Day 1: Labuhan Bajo – Rinca Island
Arrival at Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo, West Flores, where your tour guide meets you and transfers you to the pier of Labuan Bajo. You have lunch on board during the 2 ½-hour sailing trip to Rinca Island. At Rinca, you hike through the typical dry forest to explore the natural habitat of the Komodo dragons. You will not only see the dragons, but also many other wild animals like deer, buffaloes, long-tailed macaques, wild pigs and numerous birds. A local ranger leads you through this unique environment and explains you everything about its fauna and flora.
After this hike, you board the vessel again to sail to Kambing Island for some snorkeling. In the late afternoon, you sail to Lasa Island nearby Komodo Island for dinner and overnight stay on the boat.
Day 2: Komodo – Pink Beach – Manta Point
After breakfast on board, you sail directly to Loh Liang – the ranger station on Komodo Island. You pass many small islands during the 2 ½-hour trip towards the pier of Komodo Island. After registration, you start a basic trek to see the Komodo dragons and other wild animals like Timor deer, wild pigs, wild chickens and many species of tropical birds. A local ranger guides you during this hike. Don’t forget to look up, as you might spot Komodo dragons up in the trees.
You return to the boat and sail to Pink Beach for some snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. The Pink Beach coral reef is one of best spots for snorkeling and diving, as the reef is untouched and spectacular, with many brightly colored fish living in and around the reef.
Afterwards, you sail to Manta Point to see the huge mantas while snorkeling. Sometimes you can even see them from the boat. Please take into account that we can never guarantee you will spot any manta rays, as the waves and the currents can be strong and unpredictable. Lunch is served on board.
Late in the afternoon, you sail to Kalong Island. Here, you can see thousands of flying foxes when they fly out from the mangrove trees between 6 pm and 7 pm. This fabulous event can only be witnessed from a boat as the island is inhabited and hard to enter.
Day 3: Kalong Island – Bidadari – Labuahan Bajo
After breakfast on the boat, you leave for Bidadari (Angel Island) for snorkeling, relaxing and sunbathing on a white sandy beach.
Afterwards, you continue to Labuahan Bajo, where you check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, you visit the Batu Cermin Cave and you can even try some local fishing. You have dinner at a local restaurant.
